SKIPPER W - AQHA HALL OF FAME AQHA # 7,964 1945 sorrel stallion
AQHA Champion Sire.  Skipper W  was only shown three times and he was Grand Champion in halter each time. Skipper W's show career was cut short due to the loss of Nick Shoemaker at the Weiscamp ranch and Skipper W was chosen to fill in as the senior sire.   "Skipper W" was a leading sire/grandsire of AQHA Champions and leading sire of ROM Arena offspring. Out of only 132 registered foals he produced 18 ROM Arena, 13 AQHA Champion, 7 Superior Halter and 1 Superior Performance offspring. Skipper W's lasting legacy is that he consistently sired both sons and daughters who were better than himself and who became top sires or producers in their own right.
SKIPPER'S KING - AQHA # 48,217 1954 sorrel 15.3h stallion
"Skipper's King" who stood 15.3h, and about 1400 lbs was considered by Hank Wiescamp to be the top son of Skipper W. Hank says, "I named him Skipper's King because that's just what he was -- the king of the Skippers. That's all there was to it." ["The Hank Weiscamp Story", Frank Holmes (Publishers Press, 1996)].  He produced 12 ROM Arena, 8 AQHA Champion, 5 Superior Halter and 2 Superior Performance offspring. Skipper's King like his sire, Skipper W, was considered to be a superior breeding horse and greatly contributed to the Wiescamp horses.  He earned 18 halter points, as well as 4 performance points. 

SKIP'S REWARD - AQHA # 90,297 1958 palomino stallion
"Skip's Reward" was sired by Skipper W and out of Show LadyShow Lady was by Show Boat and out of the great producer Santa MariaSkip's Reward was primarily a sire of mares.  Skip's Reward had a terrific shoulder and heart girth as well as displaying a great top line.  He produced 2 ROM Arena, 2 AQHA Champions and 3 Superior Halter offspring.  He was also a halter point earner. Weiscamp says this about Skip's Reward, "When Skip's Reward came along I thought he was one of the greatest-headed colts I had ever raised. I named him Reward because that's just what I thought of him." ["The Hank Weiscamp Story", Frank Holmes (Publishers Press, 1996)]

SOCIAL REWARD - AQHA # 334,063 1964 sorrel stallion
"Social Reward" was sired by Skip's Reward and out of Social Bar.  Halter point earner.
SKIP'S BARBER - AQHA # 772,182 1971 stallion
"Skip's Barber" was sired by Skippa Lark and out of Skip BarbaSkip Barba was by Skip's Reward and out of Barbara Star and was one of the stars of the Wiescamp show horses in the late '60's.  He has earned  52 halter points.
NICK W - AQHA # 14,947 1946 dun stallion
"Nick W" was another horse bred by H.J. Wiescamp.  He was sired by Nick Shoemaker and out of CimarroncitaCimarroncita was in turn sired by Plaudit and out of a mare by the name of Valley QueenNick W produced 2 ROM Race, 1 Superior Performance, 1 High Point Performance, 1 Superior Halter offspring and a number of Producing Daughters.
NICK SHOEMAKER - AQHA # 1,095 1939 palomino stallion
"Nick Shoemaker" stood 15.1h and about 1300 lbs.  Nick Shoemaker was the cornerstone for the Weiscamp breeding program. Nick Shoemaker only lived for 8 years but in that short time he produced Skipper W, Spanish Nick, Joker W and others. Nick Shoemaker was purchased by Hank Wiescamp to cross on his Philmont and Ghost ranch mares.  Nick produced 5 foal crops before his untimely death in 1947.  His son, Skipper W, went on to become one of the best-known sires of the QH breed.
HIRED GIRL - AQHA # 6,043 19xx palomino mare
"Hired Girl" was sired by Cowboy and out of Leche, and was the dam of Skipper W. She is shown here at the age of 22 years. Hired Girl was one of the mares acquired when Hank Wiescamp had gone to the Ghost Ranch to look at Cowboy (P-12) as a possibly lease stallion following the loss of use of the breeding stallion Brujo due to a bout of distemper.  Hired Girl was also the dam of two other sons, Skipity Scoot and Shawnee Sheik, as well as four top producing daughters; Sailor's Girl, Spotless Penny, Skip's Sis and Senator's Maid.
SANTA MARIA - AQHA # 3,532 1938 roan mare
"Santa Maria" was a young Philmont filly that was purchased with her dam by Hank Wiescamp when Phillips donated most of his ranch to the Boy Scouts in 1941.  Santa Maria spent her entire life on the Wiescamp ranch.  She had as great an impact on the Wiescamp breeding program as any other single mare.  Dam of Skipper's King.

Out of his 80 registered offspring, 30 were shown, with 21 of those receiving a total of 129 points - 89 points in Halter, 40 points in Performance, 5 ROMS in Performance, AQHA Champion, 5 Race Wins, 2 Race ROMs.
PLAUDIT- PBHA HALL OF FAME, AQHA # 1,657 1930 palomino 15h stallion
AQHA World Champion Sire (racing) "Plaudit" was sired by the TB, King Plaudit and out of the dun mare, Colorado Queen; sired by Old NickPlaudit  was foaled in Colorado in 1930. He was never entered in any recognized competition but left an impressive running record on the New Mexico bush tracks.  The sire of King Plaudit, Plaudit (TB)  won the 1898 Kentucky Derby. Tom Mills was the owner of Plaudit at birth.  The colt passed hands from Tom to Coke Roberds, Jack Hauskins, Warren Shoemaker and then Waite Phillips of the Philmonot Ranch by the time he was 3.  He stayed with Phillips until the ranch was given to the Boy Scouts in '41 and it was then he sold to Hal Cooper who in turn sold him to Frank Burns.  At this time a severe injury sent the stallion to Colorado A & M where he was bought by R.S. Roskelly and eventually passed on to his final owner Leon Harms. 
All of Plaudit's colts had speed.  He could be bred to a Percheron and you would get something fast.  He was smart, had a good disposition, and was classy looking.
Plaudit was a palomino horse despite being originally registered as a Dun.
LEO - AQHA HALL OF FAME AQHA # 1,335 - 1940 sorrel stallion
"Leo" was a leading sire/maternal grandsire of ROM Race offspring, a leading sire/maternal grandsire of AQHA Champions and a leading sire of ROM Arena offspring.  He produced 211 ROM Race, 33 ROM Arena, 24 AQHA Champions, 1 AQHA Supreme Champion, 4 Superior Halter and 8 Superior Performance offspring. He also sired a NCHA world champion finalist (Bronze Award). Leo was noted as a tremendous broodmare sire and sired 215+ producing daughters.

Skipper's Lad - Sorrel

Skipper's Lad was sired by Skipper W. Foaled in 1952, he became a noted show horse and broodmare sire at the age of 8. Skipper's Lad sired 4 AQHA Champions, 3 superior halter horses and 4 superior performance horses.

AQHA Champion Sire
Foaled in 1967, Skippa Lark was the mainstay of the Wiescamp breeding program for almost 20 years. Skippa Lark died in 1986 but his daughters are still an integral part of Wiescamp's current broodmare band. He sired reserve world champions, superior halter horses, superior performance horses, and a number of other top ten show horses.
